Why we itemize every budget
· The SFG team
When you can see that $282 covers ten girls' round-trip bus fare from Kapilvastu to Kathmandu, giving stops being abstract and starts being personal. That is the whole idea.
Itemizing is more work for us. It means sitting with our partners and pricing a clinic line by line (travel, lodging, meals, coaches, first aid) instead of asking for a round number. It means publishing our math, including what SFG covers ourselves and what we're asking donors to fund.
But it changes what giving feels like on both ends. Donors know exactly what their money does. And our partners get budgets that are honest by construction, because every line will be spent against, in public.
Every project page on this site has its full budget, grouped and totaled, with the ask stated plainly. When something isn't itemized yet, we say that too.
