The leaders are local. We're the support.

These six organizations run their own programs in their own communities. SFG provides platform development, clinics, fundraising, and digital tools, pro-bono or at sliding scale. Where a partner is fundraising, every project is itemized and tracked in the open; where our support is the ask, gifts route to the General Fund.

The WE United Project

Kathmandu, Nepal | USA

A women-led movement in Nepal using football to help women and girls build confidence, leadership, and a community that has their back.

The WE United Project builds safe spaces where women and girls in Nepal can play, lead, and belong. Their belief is simple and proven on the pitch: when a girl gets a space designed for her, with good coaching, real teammates, and a chance to lead, she carries that confidence into the rest of her life. Their work runs on four ideas. WEplay creates safe spaces for play at every skill level. WEcoach trains women as coaches through a flagship curriculum that gives women the tools to found and run their own girls' teams. WEchallenge takes on gender stereotypes with data that counters them. WEconnect builds the local and global networks that keep the movement growing. SFG has partnered with WE United since 2022: we're building the e-learning curriculum and platform behind their coaching work, and co-delivering the in-person sport, data, and AI literacy clinic in Kathmandu alongside Atoot Nepal.

What SFG provides

  • E-learning curriculum & platform development
  • Co-delivery of the Kathmandu clinic
  • Documentation & reporting

Atoot

Kapilvastu & Kathmandu, Nepal | Davenport, Iowa, USA

"Her Voice. Her Choice." Atoot uses football to open education and opportunity for girls in rural Kapilvastu, Nepal, where those chances are hardest to come by.

Atoot means 'unbreakable' in Nepali, and that is exactly what the organization sets out to build in its girls. Atoot was founded on a straightforward need: safe, empowering spaces for girls who face inequality, discrimination, and injustice in Nepal. Working in the Kapilvastu region, where structured sport and education for girls are scarce, Atoot uses Sports for Development as the catalyst for something bigger: confidence, education, and agency. Their program rests on four pillars: football, education, life-skills workshops, and community engagement. The team behind it brings well over a decade of combined experience in Sports for Development, and they measure what they do, running regular monitoring and evaluation so the impact is real, not assumed. For the Kathmandu clinic, Atoot brings a cohort of girls from Kapilvastu to the capital, coordinating recruitment, chaperoning, and the follow-up back home.

What SFG provides

  • E-learning curriculum & platform development
  • Co-delivery of the in-person clinic
  • Participant travel support (via the clinic project)
  • Documentation & reporting

Atoot Inc. is a US 501(c)(3) (est. 2018, Davenport, Iowa); registered in Nepal (D.A.O. Kathmandu Regn. No. 470; S.W.C. affiliation no. 49875)

Chipata Girls Football Club

Chipata, Eastern Province, Zambia

A football club that's really a movement, giving girls in Eastern Zambia a safe place to lead, stay in school, and rewrite what's expected of them.

Chipata Girls Football Club is more than a team. Based in Zambia's Eastern Province, it gives girls a safe, empowering place to build leadership, stay in school, and push back on the norms that hold them back. Through football, mentorship, and life-skills training, the club is helping reduce early pregnancies, prevent school dropouts, and change the story of what girls can do, on the pitch and off it. The work maps directly onto several UN Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Good Health & Well-being. The players compete at the national level and lead in their communities, proving the same point twice: girls belong on the field, and in charge. SFG has partnered with the club since 2024, helping them raise money, grow sustainably, widen educational access, and build the digital tools that let a grassroots club run like a serious organization.

What SFG provides

  • Fundraising campaigns & fund development
  • Growth strategy & support
  • Educational access support
  • Website development & digital transformation

H.I.P. Football & M.D.

Ohio & Oregon, USA

A former NFL linebacker's mission to make football safer: teaching the game without the brain impact, and building the protective tech to back it up.

H.I.P., Head Impact Prevention, Football & M.D. was founded by Tim Johnson, whose name American football fans may recognize: in Super Bowl XXXVII, playing for the Oakland Raiders, Johnson blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown. Across a seven-year pro career he played for the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, and Raiders in the NFL, NFL Europe's Rhein Fire in Germany, and the CFL's Calgary Stampeders in Canada. Since retiring, Tim has built a different kind of game. The H.I.P. Football model teaches football skills and movement in a two-hand-touch format that prevents brain impact, giving young athletes a way to learn the sport well and transition to full-contact leagues prepared, not injured. Alongside it, H.I.P. M.D. is developing a next-generation American football helmet, built from biomimicking design with a roadmap toward integrated sensors that monitor impact force, pulse, and brain activity. SFG has partnered with H.I.P. since 2024, providing this support pro-bono. Because we do it as capacity allows, gifts to the SFG General Fund are what let us move faster on work like this.

GWES — Global Women Emancipation in Sports

Yaoundé, Cameroon

An Olympian's organization opening sport to women and girls across Cameroon: inclusive spaces, advocacy, and a new generation of leaders.

Global Women Emancipation in Sports (GWES) works to make sport a place where women and girls in Cameroon belong and lead. Through empowerment programs, advocacy campaigns, and leadership development, GWES creates the safe, inclusive spaces that let women take part, and take charge, in athletics. GWES is led by Dr. Fomum Victorine Agum, a Cameroonian Olympian who represented her country in table tennis at the 2008 Beijing Games and has competed across seven sporting disciplines, earning more than 60 medals and 50 trophies. In 2024 she was named a finalist for the Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) Empowerment Award for her work with GWES. SFG supports GWES pro-bono: helping them see clearly where they stand online, sharpen how they tell their story, build a real digital home, and put a fundraising strategy in place.

ABAS — Abakwa Sports Academy of Bamenda

Bamenda, Northwest Region, Cameroon

A grassroots sports academy in Bamenda developing young footballers, and giving girls in Cameroon's Northwest a real place in the game.

Abakwa Sports Academy takes its name from Abakwa, the local name for Bamenda in Cameroon's Northwest Region. The academy develops young footballers in a community where the game is woven into daily life, and, importantly, makes room for girls in a sport that too often leaves them out. Grassroots academies like ABAS are where talent, discipline, and belonging get built, long before anyone reaches a national stage. SFG supports ABAS pro-bono: an honest look at their current online presence, a simple plan to reach their community, the start of a real website, and help putting a fundraising strategy in place, the digital foundation a growing academy needs.

What SFG provides

  • Social media audit
  • Campaign strategy
  • Website development (starting)
  • Fundraising strategy support
